Bidirectional Knife Gate Valve
A bidirectional knife gate valve is designed to seal effectively from both sides and operates under back pressure, providing better water tightness. This type of valve is less prone to leakage from solid accumulation and is more versatile in applications where flow can occur in either direction. Though typically more expensive, bidirectional valves offer lower torque and thrust requirements and are ideal for installations at the end of pipelines.

- The two-piece knife gate valve is named after its valve body, which adopts a two-piece split construction.
- The main body of the two-piece knife gate valve uses a symmetrical casting structure. Compared with the traditional integrated knife gate valve, its valve body is thicker and stronger. Both internal and external surfaces are precisely machined using CNC high-precision equipment, ensuring improved dimensional accuracy and sealing performance. The valve also offers enhanced resistance to media erosion, with a smoother and more aesthetically refined appearance.
- The valve body adopts a full-bore design. The internal chamber is equipped with a properly designed sloped diversion and flushing port structure, which effectively improves flow smoothness through the valve passage. This design also helps prevent sealing leakage caused by improper closure in traditional integrated knife gate valves.
- The unique bi-directional sealing structure enables pressure retention in both directions without jamming, leakage, or erosion. This significantly improves the service life of the valve, and its pressure-bearing capacity exceeds standard requirements.
- The two-piece knife gate valve is particularly suitable for demanding working conditions, including media such as slurry, slag, and mineral powder. It performs well in high-scouring environments, applications requiring high sealing performance, harsh operating conditions, and services demanding strong wear and corrosion resistance.

- The valve seat adopts a U-shaped integrated hot-molded rubber sealing ring structure. It features higher material density, excellent resilience, and superior resistance to wear, water, oil, and erosion.
- The rubber valve seat is embedded within the valve chamber flow channel and is fully enclosed by the valve body. As a result, more than 95% of its surface area is protected from direct media erosion, significantly extending service life and maintaining reliable sealing performance.
- The rubber sealing contact surface of the U-shaped valve seat is designed with a convex V-shaped structure. This reduces the contact area with the medium and gate plate, effectively improving valve seat life and resolving issues such as high operating torque, excessive thrust, and difficult opening and closing.
- The sealing structure in the central channel of the valve seat rubber adopts a concave U-shaped design, which further reduces contact with the gate plate, providing lower operating torque, better resilience, and stronger sealing performance. An optional needle-type rubber injection port can also be provided, allowing external sealant injection to restore sealing performance after wear.
- An arc-shaped scraper structure is designed between the valve seat and valve body. When combined with PTFE sealing, it effectively removes adhesive media from the gate plate surface, thereby improving overall valve seat service life.
