Pressure Seal Check Valve

A pressure seal check valve is an automatic valve designed to prevent backflow in high-pressure systems. It opens and closes automatically based on the flow of the medium within the pipeline, protecting pumps and motors from reversal and preventing the release of medium from containers. These valves are especially suitable for systems where pressure may exceed the main system's pressure, often used in auxiliary pipelines.

What is a Pressure Seal Check Valve?

  • Pressure seal bonnet valves are a compact alternative to bolted bonnet valves, especially for high-pressure applications. These valves feature a bonnet closure assembly in which the internal fluid pressure acting on the bonnet increases the compressive load on the sealing gasket, creating a self-sealing closure. In contrast to bolted bonnet designs, the sealing performance of pressure seal bonnet valves improves as the pressure increases.
  • Pressure seal check valves automatically open under the velocity of the flowing medium and close by gravitational force when the flow reverses or stops. Based on disc design, check valves are generally classified into two types: swing type and tilting disc type.
  • Check valves are installed in pipelines to prevent reverse flow of the medium and to ensure one-way flow within the piping system only.

Design Features of Pressure Seal Check Valve

» Separate rings absorb the thrust applied along the stem by internal pressure.

» Sealing rings are designed to withstand pressure and prevent gasket deformation.

» A mild steel gasket seal provides a large sealing contact area for reliable and effective sealing performance.

» Stainless steel inlays ensure soundness and corrosion resistance in the critical body sealing areas of carbon steel and alloy steel valves.

» The hinge pin design ensures that there is no intrusion into the pressure boundary.

» The standard swing disc type is suitable for horizontal installation in liquid service applications, or for vertical installation where the liquid flows from bottom to top.

» The hinge and hinge pin design allows full and smooth movement of the disc.
