Cast Steel Gate Valves are designed and manufactured to achieve volatile organic compound (VOC) leakage of less than 100 ppm (parts per million). Extensive baseline laboratory testing, including both static and cyclic testing, has been conducted to establish the critical design parameters required to ensure low-emission sealing performance at the stem packing and bonnet gasket areas. In addition, in-house testing procedures have been developed and are performed periodically to verify that standard product design and manufacturing criteria consistently result in Cast Steel Gate Valves meeting a maximum VOC leakage limit of 100 ppm prior to shipment.
