Cast Steel Gate Valves are designed and manufactured to achieve volatile organic compound (VOC) leakage levels of less than 100 ppm (parts per million). Extensive baseline laboratory testing, including both static and cycle tests, has been conducted to establish the critical design parameters required for low-emission sealing at the stem packing and bonnet gasket areas. In addition, in-house testing procedures have been developed and are performed periodically to verify that standard product design and manufacturing practices consistently ensure that Cast Steel Gate Valves meet a maximum VOC leakage of 100 ppm prior to shipment.
